Nitsor is 3D annotation software for industrial CT. Your inspectors mark porosity, cracks, inclusions and delamination on the volume itself. Every mark is measured in millimetres, carries the name of whoever drew it, and belongs to a release someone outside your company can check.

What an inspector gets

  • Sizes in millimetres, not pixels

    A pore is measured in cubic millimetres, because the software knows the voxel size, the size of one 3D pixel in the volume. That is a number you can put in a report.

  • One record for each part

    Serial number, scan settings, who inspected it, who signed it off, and every change since. Nothing is overwritten, so last year's call is still readable.

  • A release an auditor can check

    Export the labels with a hash chain. Your customer, or whoever audits you, can confirm the export is unchanged without ever receiving the scans.

  1. 01 · register

    Point at the scan

    The volume stays on your file server or in your own object storage. Nitsor keeps an index, a hash and the scan settings.

  2. 02 · label

    Mark the defect in 3D

    Brush across slices or grow a region from one seed. Porosity, shrinkage, cracks, inclusions, delamination where the layers of a composite come apart, and lack of fusion in a weld.

  3. 03 · review

    A second inspector signs

    The reviewer sees what changed in millimetres and counts, accepts or rejects, and the rejection stays on the record.

  4. 04 · release

    Freeze it and hand it over

    A release names the data it came from, the label list in force, and the people involved. It carries its own proof.

RejectionsA rejected mark is an entry, not a deletion. It stays visible with the reason and the name, which is the part an auditor asks about.

The worked example on this site

Every CT picture on this site comes from one published scan: a subvolume of a Messerschmitt Me 163 airframe, scanned on the Fraunhofer EZRT XXL-CT rig. It is a good stand-in for a large industrial part. Thin skin, riveted joints, ring frames, brackets and fasteners, all in one 512-slice volume.

We sampled every eighth slice, 64 frames in all, and drew the dataset's own instance labels over them. The outlines you see in the stack on the home page are those labels, not a drawing. Bring your own castings or composites and we will run the same walk on them.

What your quality manager gets, and what they do not

A release is evidence you attach to an inspection report. It is not the report. It says which scan, which label list, who drew each mark, who accepted it and when, and it carries a hash chain so a customer auditor can check the file has not been edited since you cut it. They check it on their own machine, with no account here and no access to your scans.

We make no claim about any standard or certification. If you report against one, tell us which on the call and we will say plainly whether we help. Nitsor never decides whether a part passes.
